Graph Drawing in Motion

چکیده
Enabling the user of a graph drawing system to preserve the mental map between two different layouts of a graph is a major problem. In this paper we present methods that smoothly transform one drawing of a graph into another without any restrictions to the class of graphs or type of layout algorithm. Communicated by M. Graph Drawing in Motion II
Enabling the user of a graph drawing system to preserve the mental map between two different layouts of a graph is a major problem. Whenever a layout in a graph drawing system is modified, the mental map of the user must be preserved. One way in which the user can be helped in understanding a change of layout is through animation of the change. In this paper, we present clustering-based strateg...
متن کاملDrawing Graphs with Nonuniform Nodes Using Potential Fields
A potential field approach, coupled with force-directed methods, is proposed in this paper for drawing graphs with nonuniform nodes in 2-D and 3-D. In our framework, nonuniform nodes are uniformly or nonuniformly charged, while edges are modelled by springs. Using certain techniques developed in the field of potential-based path planning, we are able to find analytically tractable procedures fo...
متن کاملViewpoint quality and global scene exploration strategies
Virtual worlds exploration techniques are used in a wide variety of domains — from graph drawing to robot motion. This paper is dedicated to virtual world exploration techniques which have to help a human being to understand a 3D scene. An improved method of a viewpoint quality estimation is presented in the paper, together with a new method for an automatic 3D scene exploration, based on a vir...

متن کاملMultiple Sensors Based Hand Motion Recognition Using Adaptive Directed Acyclic Graph
The use of human hand motions as an effective way to interact with computers/robots, robot manipulation learning and prosthetic hand control is being researched in-depth. This paper proposes a novel and effective multiple sensor based hand motion capture and recognition system. Ten common predefined object grasp and manipulation tasks demonstrated by different subjects are recorded from both th...
